This 700,000 sq ft. eleven-story research facility located on the Washington University School of Medicine campus is compreised of 7,500 tons of steel. Connection design was performed using both AISC Load and Resistance Factored Design (LRFD) and Allowable Stress Design (ASD). The lateral force resisiting system consisted of concentric and eccentric braced frames.
